General Information
(1) AEIS is a centralised admissions exercise conducted by MOE at the end of every year for new international students (IS) who wish to join our schools at the beginning of the following academic year in January.
(2) IS who do not have a place in our mainstream schools and who wish to seek admission to Primary 2-5 and Secondary 1-3 are eligible to take part in the exercise.
(3) The exercise would comprise English and Mathematics tests that would assess applicants' English literacy, numeracy and reasoning abilities.
(4) AEIS test papers and scripts will remain the property of MOE and will not be released to any applicant. Admission is subject to the applicant's performance in the test. If successful, placement will depend on available vacancies and the applicant's declared residential area in Singapore.
(5) Applicants should note that school admission is subject to them obtaining a Student's Pass (STP) from the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) if they do not hold a Dependant's Pass (DP) or Immigration Exemption Order (IEO). You may refer to the ICA website at for more information, including the requirements for local sponsorship.
Age Criteria
(6) Applicants should ensure that they satisfy the age requirements for the levels they are seeking admission to. They must not be overage by more than 2 years above the age-appropriate for that level.
(7) AEIS applicants may visit the MOE website at: for more information on the age criteria and age-appropriate level.
